The central mission of the Penn TREC Survivor Center is to advance science on energetics and cancer survivorship, toward the goal of improving both the length and quality of cancer survivorship.
Who We Are
The Penn TREC Survivor Center, funded by the National Cancer Institute, includes three translational and transdisciplinary projects designed to support its central mission. Project 1 will study the effects of exercise and/or weight loss in mice which will be used by Project 2 to study these same effects on female breast cancer survivors with lymphedema. Project 3 will build on Project 2 by analyzing the cost effectiveness of the exercise and/or weight loss intervention.
