The central mission of the Penn TREC Survivor Center is to advance science on energetics and cancer survivorship, toward the goal of improving both the length and quality of cancer survivorship.
Outreach & Dissemination
The goal of the Outreach Core is to ensure that the successes of the Penn TREC Survivor Center research are communicated and disseminated broadly, with appropriate timing and with greatest effect on translation to practice in clinical and community settings.
- Review projects, pilot project ideas and investigator and trainee interests twice yearly with a specific goal of identifying new opportunities and reporting on on-going efforts to translate research results into real changes in the lives of cancer survivors.
- Beginning in year 2, develop a yearly Issue Brief highlighting specific clinical and medical issues faced by cancer survivors and how obesity interacts with these issues.
- During year 4, coordinate the planning of a national conference on a topic within the realm of obesity and cancer survivors.
